The First Two Kids Have Arrived

June 4th, 2019

Today, our first two children arrived at Ha Lebesa. Two brothers, understandably nervous. They had been living in a nearby village and, at just nine and eleven years old, had been largely fending for themselves. Their world had been uncertain for far too long. And now they were stepping into something entirely new.

What We Have Been Working Towards

For years this journey has been building toward this moment.

The first trip in 2013, The decision to establish something new. Findingthe land. The fundraising. The commissioning of Chris and Sheila. The long days of digging foundations and mixing concrete by hand. The legal processes and partnerships.

All of it has led to two boys being led by the hand into a home that had been built for them.

A Commitment

This day changes everything for our project.

Up till now it’s been adventure but now it’s real. We have been entrusted with real lives. We are not committed to a project for a season. We are committed to these children for as long as it takes. God has been faithful. The church has been faithful. Friends and supporters have been faithful. And now two brothers have a safe place to live and grow.
